Hello Friend!
Welcome to Awake Mindful, a space where you can find inspiration and guidance for personal development and mindfulness. My name is Nina, and I am honored to have you here.
I grew up in a home shaped by addiction and violence. My father was an alcoholic who physically abused my mother, and my mother stayed because she felt she had no real options. Those early experiences profoundly shaped how I see power, responsibility, and choice.
Because of that, I am a fierce advocate for women’s empowerment. I believe every woman deserves to live life on her own terms, with the ability to advocate for herself, trust her inner voice, and make choices that honor her well-being. Independence develops as you learn to trust yourself and take responsibility for your choices. Assertiveness is one of the skills that support it.
My professional background began in mental health. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, which gave me a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, trauma, and emotional patterns. Later, driven by a deep interest in systems and structure, I earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science, further shaping how I think about patterns, feedback loops, and change.
My personal journey into mindfulness deepened after the loss of my younger brother to an accidental overdose. In the midst of grief, I found grounding and clarity through Buddhist principles, mindfulness, meditation, and yoga. These practices did not remove my pain, but they transformed how I related to it and to myself.
After my mother’s sudden death, I experienced a profound spiritual awakening that expanded my understanding of energy, intuition, and consciousness. This integrated naturally with my clinical training, lived experience, and mindfulness practice, forming the foundation of my unique teaching approach.
Today, my work blends awareness, psychology, spirituality, and practical action. I don’t teach people how to escape discomfort or bypass reality. I teach them how to meet themselves honestly, trust their intuition, and respond differently without abandoning who they are.
My work is not for everyone, and it isn’t meant to be. It is for women who are ready to reclaim their inner authority, live with clarity, and create change from the inside out.
That’s why I started Awake Mindful. Life is too short, and we all deserve to live a happy, fulfilling life with the time we have.
