Welcome to Awake Mindful, a space where you can find inspiration and guidance for personal development and mindfulness. My name is Nina, and I am honored to have you here.
I grew up in a household with an alcoholic father who physically abused my mother. My mother felt like she did not have options, so she stayed. Those traumatic early childhood years greatly influenced and shaped my perspective.
As a result, I am a fierce advocate for women’s empowerment and believe every woman deserves to live life on her own terms. I aim to empower and encourage women to be independent, assertive, and advocate for themselves.
My journey in personal development started during my career in mental health. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, which gave me the foundation to understand the complexities of human behavior.
However, my love for technology and the ever-evolving digital world led me to earn another Master’s degree in Computer Science.
My obsession with mindfulness began when I lost my younger brother to addiction in 2017. I was absolutely devastated. I found solace in practicing mindfulness, meditation, and yoga, which helped me navigate my grief and transform my life. As a result, I believe that mindfulness can be life-changing and transformational when practiced regularly.
That’s why I started Awake Mindful. I want to inspire you to embrace mindfulness and personal development in your life. Life is too short, and we all deserve to live a happy, fulfilling life with the time we have.
I chose the name Awake Mindful for my website because being awake, alive, and paying attention to your life with mindfulness can change everything. I hope my content motivates and inspires you to embark on your own journey toward self-improvement and mindfulness.
